Chunghwa Post

The Chunghwa Post Information Website is an online postal platform established by a Taiwanese government agency. It provides the public with services such as mail delivery, savings, remittance, simple life insurance, philately, and the management of related products and postal assets, all accessible online.

Problem Statement

The interface of this website is not user-friendly. Having too many buttons with the same functionality confuses users about where to focus their attention. The information hierarchy is unclear, and the colors and style are inconsistent.

02

Goal

The purpose of the website is to help the public access the information they need more conveniently, so I aim to enhance its usability through this redesign. The "Chinese Address Translation into English" feature has been selected as the primary focus for this website redesign.

Solution

Optimize the existing website layout and IA structure
Optimize the website's navigation bar by organizing the service details into drop-down menus. Merge buttons with similar functions, and restructure the webpage's layout to emphasize the core functional areas. Additionally, adjust the website to implement a RWD(responsive web design).

Increase user retention and enhance customer loyalty
In the "Chinese Address Translation to English" task flow, add a personalized tools list (Favorites, Drafts, History), and create a new page for the "Save User's Previous Address Translation Records" feature to help users reduce repetitive tasks.

Enhance the website's usability
When users fill out the address form, provide an autocomplete search feature and tuck away extraneous information in less noticeable areas to avoid misleading users while completing the form and enjoyable user experience.

Result

This redesign is a personal project based on interviews and background data from the website improvement plan by the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Taiwan. I synthesized a large amount of interview transcripts and data into personas, user journey maps, and other design documentation, which then informed the development of specific design outcomes.
